Chris is native to Vermont and New Hampshire and attended seminary at Andover Newton. He recently moved here from Atlanta, Georgia, where he had started a new church community called Praxis United Church of Christ, a refuge for people seeking to bring their whole selves to a progressive faith community. Praxis focused on service work, including creating a program to teach computer skills to people living in a local homeless shelter. Chris has also served as the communications director of the Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ, organizing online and social media communications and designing their webpage.
Chris lives in Arlington with his wife and co-conspirator Leah, also a United Church of Christ minister, and their daughter Davie, a preschooler with an uncontainable energy who spends much of her time pretending to be Luke Skywalker, Wonder Woman, or a T-rex. Together they live with their cat, Kali, who is well past retirement age.
Chris brings experience in bridge-building, new church starts, children’s and youth ministry, a passion for inclusivity, comfortability in times of change, deep kindness, and an understanding of congregational dynamics...not to mention tech-savvy!
