Short answer: yup!
And if you're a weirdo, nerd, hypocrite or heretic, there's room for you, too.
Our congregation is about 40% LGBTQ. We are old, middle-aged, and mostly young (one third of our congregation is under 18, and another quarter are "youngish adults"). Folks stuck on our church were raised Roman Catholic, UCC, fundamentalist evangelical, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Mormon, Unitarian, Jewish, atheist, agnostic, and the fastest-growing religious demographic in America, "none." We are Black, Latino, Asian, multiracial, and (mostly, but we're working on it) Anglo. Our families are one-parent, two-parent, polyamorous, adoptive, bio, queer, straight, family of choice, happily single, and many combinations thereof. We tend to be theologically ultra-progressive but we love the healthy tension that comes from stimulating dialogue and difference.
Most of all: we are perfectly imperfect.
